Since 1955, its incorporation year, “Dnepr-SpetsHydroEnergoMontazh” Open Joint Stock Company has carried out construction works at hydro electric power facilities in Ukraine in connection with assembly and commissioning of equipment at the hydroelectric power plants as follows:

  • (1955-1956) Kakhovka HPP – 6 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 351 MW;
  • (1959-1960) Kremenchuk HPP – 12 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 625 MW;
  • (1963-1964) Dnieprodzerzhynsk HPP – 8 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 352 MW;
  • (1965-1968) Kiev HPP – 20 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 361 MW;
  • (1970-1972) Kiev hydropower storage plant – 24 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 444 MW;
  • (1972-1975) Kaniv HPP – 24 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 444 MW;
  • (1978-1983) Dniester HPP-1 – 6 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 700 MW;
  • (1974-1980) Dniepro HPP-2 – 8 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 888 MW;
  • Tashlyk hydropower storage plant – start-up complex consisting of 2 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 324 MW, put into operation in 2007.
  • Dniester hydropower storage plant – start-up complex consisting of 3 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 430 MW, construction and assembly work is underway. 1st unit is scheduled for commissioning in 22 of December 2009;
  • (1994-2000) Dniester HPP-2 – 3 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 45 MW;
  • (1997-1999) Alexandrovskaya HPP – 2 hydroelectric units, total capacity of 12 MW;

Presently as a general contractor for the works on assembly of hydro electrical equipment at Ukrainian HPPs OJSC “Dnepr-SHEM” carries out maintenance of the above listed HPP equipment, performing overhauls and current maintenance for hydroelectric units, upgrade subject to full disassembly of the respective unit, replacement of the generator stator core and winding at the plant, full replacement of turbines and further commissioning.

In the most recent years units at the following plants have been upgraded:

  • (1997-2002) Dniepro HPP-1 – 6 hydroelectric units, installed capacity of each one – 72 MW;
  • (2004-2011) Dniepro HPP-2 – 2 6 hydroelectric units installed capacity of each one – 113 MW;
  • (1997-2011) Kiev HPP – 18 hydroelectric units (installed capacity of each hydroelectric unit has been increased up to 22 MW);
  • (2003-2011) Kakhovka HPP – 6 hydroelectric units, installed capacity of each one – 58.5 MW;
  • (2004-2011) Dnieprodzerzhynsk HPP – 5 hydroelectric units, installed capacity of each one – 44 MW;
  • (2006-2011) Kaniv HPP - 5 hydroelectric units (installed capacity of each hydroelectric unit has been increased up to 22 MW);
  • (2010-2011) Kiev hydropower storage plant – 1 hydroelectric units, installed capacity of each one –37 MW;
  • (2009-2011) Kremenchuk HPP – 2 hydroelectric units, installed capacity of each one – 57.2 MW;
  • (2009-2011) Dniester HPP-1 – 2 hydroelectric units, installed capacity of each one – 117 MW.

Presently, the work is performed at all plants located in the Dnepr Cascade and at the Dniester HPP-1.

Currently the work is performed at:

  • Kremenchuhskaya HPP – upgrade of the hydroelectric unit ¹3, installed capacity – 57.2 MW;
  • Kiev HPP – upgrade of the hydroelectric units ¹12, installed capacity – 22 MW, full replacement of the generator at the plant;
  • Kaniv  HPP – upgrade of the hydroelectric units ¹11, ¹8, installed capacity of each one – 22 MW, each with full replacement of the generator at the plant;
  • Dnieprodzerzhynsk HPP – upgrade of the hydroelectric unit ¹5, installed capacity – 44 MW.
  • Dniester HPP-2 – upgrade of the hydroelectric unit ¹13, installed capacity – 113 MW;
  • Dniester HPP-1 – upgrade of the hydroelectric unit ¹4, installed capacity – 117 MW.

The following work is done recently outside Ukraine:

  • (1999) Azerbaijan. Mingechaurskaya HPP (Francis Turbine) – upgrade, assembly and commissioning of 2 hydroelectric units with the installed capacity of two 156.4 MW.
  • (2004 – till now) Vietnam, Tkhak-Ba (Kaplan Turbine) – overhaul of 3 hydroelectric units, installed capacity of 3 units 126 MW.
